Rameau, Le Temple de la Gloire ( The temple of Glory)
To celebrate Louis XV’s military victories and French domination after the War of the Austrian Succession, Voltaire and Rameau joined their talents to imagine a magnificent celebration entitled Le Temple de la Gloire (The Temple of Glory). After its splendid presentation at Court, the work was revised for the Académie royale, where it met with great success, thanks to the virtuoso pages dedicated to the great talents of both singers and dancers.
